The International Foodservice Distributors Association (IFDA) is pleased to announce Kristin Spiridon has joined IFDA as Senior Director, Policy & Government Affairs. Spiridon brings extensive experience in Washington to her new role, where she will be supporting IFDA’s policy and advocacy work.“I’m excited to have Kristin on board to expand our advocacy footprint and amplify the voice of the food distribution industry on the important issues facing our membership,” said Mala Parker, IFDA’s Vice President of Policy & Government Affairs. “Kristin’s wealth of legislative, regulatory, and policy expertise will be a tremendous asset to IFDA and our membership.”
Prior to joining IFDA, Spiridon spent nearly ten years working at the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions under the leadership of Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-TN) and Ranking Member Richard Burr (R-NC). During that time, she focused on labor issues and led the Committee’s oversight and nominations efforts as Chief Counsel for Oversight. Before that, she served as Senior Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, working on regulatory policy and labor oversight. She began her career at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where she spent seven years in multiple roles, including lobbying on behalf of the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform. She has a J.D. from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University.
