IFDA Praises Enactment of Funding Bill with Provisions to Facilitate Food Traceability Rule

Following President Trump’s signing of H.R. 5371, the “Continuing Appropriations, Agriculture, Legislative Branch, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Extensions Act, 2026,” into law, Mala Parker, Senior Vice President of Government and Public Affairs at the International Foodservice Distributors Association (IFDA), issued the following statement:

“IFDA commends Congress and the Administration for their work to reopen the federal government and provide year-long funding for the Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Most importantly for the foodservice distribution industry, the law provides for the allowance of flexibilities essential to complying with the FDA’s Food Traceability Rule. IFDA remains committed to partnering with the FDA to ensure successful implementation that protects public health and serves communities nationwide.”
