IFDA Distributor Member S&W Foods Hosts U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy and U.S. Rep. Julia Letlow at New Headquarters

MCLEAN, VA – Aug. 22, 2025 – S&W Foods, Louisiana’s leading independent foodservice supplier and IFDA member, welcomed U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and Congresswoman Julia Letlow (R-LA) on back-to-back days to their recently opened distribution facility and headquarters in Hammond, Louisiana. The visits provided an opportunity for a local family business to showcase their new facility and have a dialogue about the foodservice distribution industry and its role in America’s food supply chain.

The new Hammond facility, which opened in March 2025, spans over 252,000 square feet, quadrupling S&W Foods’ previous capacity and setting a new standard for operational efficiency and service in the foodservice industry. The 199A family-owned business pass-through deduction was one of the ways that helped make their expansion possible. The permanence of the 199A deduction, through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, will provide more funds to reinvest in the business and support its continued growth.

“It was great to host Senator Cassidy and Representative Letlow, introduce them to our team, discuss both the successes and challenges in running our company, and thank them for their support of tax policies that help family businesses thrive,” said Paul Spalitta, CEO of S&W Foods. “We have been serving our customers for nearly five decades, so we are grateful for the opportunity to educate policymakers about our business and how we benefit the local community.”

“S&W Foods turned an idea into a legacy,” said Dr. Cassidy. “That’s why President Trump and I are working together to give Louisianans the tools they need to continue building the success of their businesses.”

“Visits to businesses allow me to listen to the needs of job creators and see the operations of crucial local businesses up close,” said Congresswoman Letlow. “As I continue to tour the 5th District throughout our August work period, it’s clear that businesses like S&W Foods are the backbone of our economy. Through my work in Congress, I’ll continue to represent the needs of job creators in our nation’s capital.”

The visits exemplify IFDA’s efforts to strengthen relationships between foodservice distributors and elected officials, ensuring policymakers understand the vital role distributors play in America’s food ecosystem.
