IFDA Joins Industry Partners in Highlighting Trucking Careers

Mala Parker, Vice President of Government Affairs at IFDA, joined industry partners at the White House on Monday to draw attention to professional truck driving careers and promote industry apprenticeship programs, an important tool for helping to recruit the next generation of trucking professionals.

“America’s dedicated, hard-working foodservice distribution drivers play a vital role in connecting communities with the food and products they need,” said Parker. “We must continue to invest in this important workforce and build pathways to rewarding commercial truck driving careers.”

Creating pathways into professional driving careers will help the foodservice distribution industry – which relies on drivers to deliver millions of supplies and perishable items every day – fill an estimated 15,000 open truck driving positions and maintain a talent pipeline.
