AUGUST 2010 Research Update: Based on feedback from members, IFDA has formed a committee to examine the Foodservice Distribution Operational Benchmark Report (OBR) and suggest alterations and improvements to the report. The committee will focus on streamlining the survey instruments used to collect operational data and will determine if the upcoming report should cover more topics than it has in the past. The timing of the OBR is also changing for the upcoming year. The survey tools will be distributed during March-April 2011, rather than the August-September timeframe used in years past.
The 2011 schedule for the survey is as follows:
March 1: Performance Measurement template for March 2011 provided to participants.
April 4: Survey on key warehouse metrics and transportation metrics provided to participants.
April 7: Performance Measurement template for March 2011 due to IFDA.
April 29: Survey on key warehouse metrics and transportation metrics due to IFDA.
October 26: OBR results will be made available. Observations from the report will be shared at the 2011 Distribution Solutions Conference in Fort Worth, Texas.
